The poems of Alexander Scott

The anthology contains some 155 Scots poems from the 16th and early 17th century, with glosses offered throughout. The texts were originally edited and glossed by members of Scottish Literature in the School of Critical Studies: R.J. Lyall in 1992 and T. Van Heijnsbergen in 1999. Three students in the School (Atia Chowdhry, Deneka MacDonald and Marielke Nieuwerth) worked on the project as editorial assisstants. The original digital edition of the anthology was created and published by Jean Anderson in 1999. In 2024 a new digital edition was developed by Brian Aitken. For this version the poems were migrated from HTML 4 to TEI XML, a new interface was developed that is accessible on all screen dimensions and access to the XML source files for the poems is granted via a downloadable ZIP file.
