An authoritative resource on the people and events that have shaped the University of Glasgow since its foundation in 1451.
The resource features a searchable database of all University graduates up to the year 1919, an interactive representation of the memorial gates with biographies of each person named on the gates, records and photographs of University students and staff who are listed on the First and Second World War Rolls of Honour, biographies of people who have held senior positions in the University since its inception, a section detailing the important role of women throughout the history of the University, including biographies of 409 women and records of 1756 women graduates from 1894-1919, a history of the University's buildings, academic posts, awards and prizes, information about the University's coat of arms and the Papal Bull, which instigated the founding of the University in 1451. In addition, the resource features a collection of almost 2,500 images relating to the history of the University.
